Our Free Blockchain Explorer is now available

Recently we announced our Blockchain Explorer for working with private Ethereum and Quorum networks. We’re pleased to announce there is now a free version available.

Anyone using a private Ethereum or Quorum network can now plug our Explorer into their network and have an easy to browse view of their blockchain.

This makes it really straight forwards to display a visual representation of the blockchain in a simple clean interface, without having to resort to the command line!

Features

Blocks: Start seeing the most relevant information as soon as you fire up the Explorer.

Transactions: There is a nice compact view of the latest transactions as well, with the padlock representing private transactions on a Quorum network.

Private Transactions: The key differentiating feature in the free version of the explorer is having a visual representation of private transactions in a Quorum network. There is no other explorer that supports this currently.

Note: this feature is currently not supported in Quorum v2.0.0, the Quorum team are working on a fix for this issue.

Search: What is an explorer without some nifty search functionality? Search by block number, block hash, transactions hash or account address in the search box in the navigation bar.

Status: A handy status link in the navigation bar allows a quick view of the current status of the explorer. If you have any issues, don’t hesitate to drop us an email via the contact link in the footer.

Why you will use it

Simple: we have been working hard to make sure that it is quick and easy to run up an instance of the Explorer. The pre-requisites have been kept to a minimum, in fact you only need Docker and an Ethereum/Quorum node to get started.

Fast: the explorer has been thoroughly tested on a number of live networks including those with millions of transactions across millions of blocks and throughputs of up to one transaction per second. Data is presented blazingly fast even under such heavy conditions.

How it works

The system comprises of three Docker containers and was designed to get up and running very quickly, with only one command once you’ve cloned the repo.

NODE_ENDPOINT=http://<node_endpoint> docker-compose -p up

Then head to http://localhost:5000 to start using it.

Enterprise Features

We have a number of additional features that are not available in the free version of the explorer. This includes the smart contract registry and authentication support using services such as LDAP, Active Directory, OAUTH and Kerberos.
